Coronavirus Updates: Career & Other Resources for NABJ Members During This Critical Time
Dear Members:
During a time where some of us may face layoffs or uncertainty about our jobs, we want to remind you of the resources available to you as NABJ members. Please take the time to visit www.NABJCareers.orgto access more than 120 jobs, representing approximately 100 employers. In fact, several new jobs were posted in the last few days. You can also upload your resume for future employers to see. We also post job opportunities from the Career Center on our Twitter and LinkedIn pages. Be sure to follow us.
Please also remember to sign up for our Producer and Editor databases, which allow employers who contact us to learn more about members who are available for editing and producing jobs.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers as we recently announced that one of our beloved members tested positive for coronavirus. I am thankful to report that Founder Allison Davis is doing well in her recovery process. She shared the following message:
“Dear NABJ Family,
I’m so glad that I can write this note of thanks to so many of you who sent prayers up for my recovery. It has been an extremely rough few weeks as I battled this awful disease. My temperature is finally back to normal, and I’m not experiencing the same discomforts that have haunted me these past weeks. I’m still a bit weak and not terribly hungry but I am feeling stronger each day. As my husband’s immune system is suppressed because of an autoimmune disease, my focus is turning to him. Thankfully, he is showing no symptoms. We are separated by a floor and both of us are wearing masks. I’ve had amazing health care from my doctors and I hope you all continue to practice social distancing and self-quarantine. Please stay safe. Continue to tell the story and remember, this is a moving target and there is more speculation than truth, so don’t be afraid to ask the same questions over and over again. I guarantee that the responses will change many times.”
