Our HABJ Students from University of Houston Attended The NABJ: Basics Bootcamp in Dallas

Several of our student members are coming off a great weekend in Dallas. The (NABJ) National Association of Black Journalists Basics Boot Camp was held at Paul Quinn College. Our young and driven journalists learned how to sharpen their field reporting and writing skills. Panelists instructed them how to build an online portfolio, while constructing content for the online audience.

Digital ethics including copywriting, privacy and trespassing were also taught to our attendees. Among the students were Jr. Lyrik Walker, Broadcast Journalism. Sr. Stephen Holmes, Broadcast Journalism. Sr. Pauliese Hawkins, Broadcast Journalism. Jr. Claydra Rhodes, Broadcast Journalism. Sr. Da’Yon Dunlap, Broadcast Journalism. Sr. Gregory Goods, Broadcast Journalism. We appreciate our NABJ President Dororthy Tucker and Marlon A. Walker, NABJ Vice President/Print 2015-2020, and the board for putting on a great event.
