CUNY Graduate School Partners With NABJ To Offer Full-tuition Scholarship
WASHINGTON, September 5, 2014 -- The CUNY Graduate School of Journalism is offering a new full-tuition scholarship to a National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) member who applies for admission to its M.A. in Journalism program for the fall of 2015.
The scholarship is worth $17,000-$36,000, depending on if the winner is a New York, out-of-state, or international resident.
By funding this scholarship, the CUNY J-School aims to help support an exceptional journalist who might not otherwise have an opportunity to earn a graduate journalism degree.
Candidates for the NABJ scholarship do not have to fill out a separate application.
They simply need to complete the CUNY J-School’s regular application, which is already live on our website, and include their NABJ member number on their resume. The school will verify the applicant’s member status with the NABJ National Membership Office.

The CUNY Graduate School of Journalism offers multimedia-focused Master of Arts degrees in journalism and entrepreneurial journalism in the heart of the nation’s media capital. It also offers a one-semester Advanced Certificate in Entrepreneurial Journalism and Summer Intensive Digital Journalism workshop series focused on emerging skill sets.
The school is awaiting New York State Education Department approval to launch an M.A. in Social Journalism program in 2015.
